The National Academic Depository (NAD), operated under UGC / MoE policy, is the official depository for Indian academic awards. DeepTech supports producing NAD-formatted records for degrees, diplomas, and consolidated transcripts so the issuing institution can lodge them with NAD via its registered depository (NSDL or CDSL).

Degrees, diplomas, and consolidated transcripts can be exported in the field structure NAD’s registered depositories expect (NSDL Educational Records Database or CDSL Academic Depository), so the institution’s NAD lodgement is a one-step upload.
Admins see lodgement status per cohort, with success / pending / failed counts and per-learner reasons for any rejection (typically data-completeness issues in PAN / Aadhaar reference or candidate metadata).
Where the institution issues both a NAD lodgement and a DigiLocker credential, the LMS keeps the two records cross-referenced on the learner profile so audits and verifications resolve consistently.
Re-issuance (for name changes, errors, programme upgrades) and revocation (for disciplinary or fraud reasons) follow NAD’s policy lifecycle and are tracked alongside the original lodgement.
Frequently asked questions
Do we still register with NSDL or CDSL ourselves?
Yes. NAD lodgement is an institutional credential — the university or autonomous institution is registered with NSDL or CDSL as a depository participant. DeepTech produces the records in the expected format; the depository relationship is yours.
Can we lodge online-degree records via NAD?
Yes, where the underlying programme is itself a UGC-approved degree (online or otherwise). DeepTech’s record format does not change with the delivery mode; the institution’s NAD policy will.
Is this part of DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is the citizen-facing locker; NAD is the institutional depository. The two interoperate — NAD records become retrievable inside the learner’s DigiLocker once the institution has lodged them.
Does NAD integration require Aadhaar?
Aadhaar (or PAN) is typically required at the learner side for NAD lodgement, depending on the depository’s policy. DeepTech does not store Aadhaar; the field is captured at the learner side during programme onboarding under DPDPA-aligned consent.
