SWAYAM integration for DeepTech LMS

Pull SWAYAM open-courseware into your branded LMS — import video lessons and quizzes, credit-tag them, and let learners earn institutional credit.

SWAYAM is the Government of India’s open-courseware platform run by NPTEL, IGNOU, and partner institutions. DeepTech supports importing SWAYAM-published video courseware via direct video ingest and SCORM packages, mapping it to your programme structure, and credit-tagging completions for ABC submission.

Trademark note: SWAYAM is a trademark of its respective owner. This page describes DeepTech's support for SWAYAM; it does not claim partnership or certification unless explicitly stated on our security or compliance pages.

What's supported

Capabilities are described as they exist in DeepTech today. We'll confirm anything we don't list here on a discovery call.

Video ingest from SWAYAM-published courses

Where institutions hold rights / consent to deliver a SWAYAM course inside their branded LMS, video lessons can be ingested and re-narrated multilingually for the institution’s cohort.

SCORM / xAPI imports for legacy SWAYAM content

SWAYAM courses that ship SCORM 1.2 / 2004 or xAPI packages can be imported and assigned alongside DeepTech-native content. Completion records are tracked in the same gradebook.

Credit mapping to your institutional programme

Once a SWAYAM course is inside DeepTech, you map it to your programme structure (core / elective / multidisciplinary) and the credits flow into NEP-2020 / ABC reporting alongside in-house courses.

Multilingual re-narration for regional cohorts

With the rights-holder’s consent, SWAYAM video lessons can be re-narrated in regional languages (Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Malayalam, Gujarati) using DeepTech’s production translation pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need rights to deliver a SWAYAM course inside our LMS?

Yes. SWAYAM courses are published under the rights of the originating institution and SWAYAM’s programme policy. Institutions should review the licensing of any specific course before embedding it inside an institutional LMS. DeepTech does not redistribute SWAYAM content automatically.

Is this an official SWAYAM API integration?

DeepTech does not claim an official partnership with SWAYAM / MoE. The integration is a content-ingest workflow: video import + SCORM / xAPI ingest + credit mapping. As and when SWAYAM publishes a stable institutional issuer API, the integration can be extended.

How is completion of an imported SWAYAM course recognised?

Completion is recognised by the institution that owns the LMS — it issues its own certificate / credit entry. Where the learner additionally completes the SWAYAM-native assessment cycle, that recognition is held by SWAYAM and is separate from the institutional record.

Does SWAYAM integration cover NPTEL specifically?

NPTEL is one of SWAYAM’s largest course-delivery partners. The same ingest and credit-mapping workflow applies to NPTEL-originating SWAYAM courses where the institution has the relevant rights.

Need a different integration?

DeepTech exposes a documented REST API plus webhooks, so most institutional systems can be wired in. Send our engineering team your stack and we'll scope it.
