DigiLocker integration for DeepTech LMS

Issue verifiable course certificates and transcripts straight to your learners' DigiLocker accounts — the Government of India’s national document locker.

DeepTech supports DigiLocker as a credential-issuance target. Course certificates, transcripts, and skill credentials generated inside the LMS can be pushed to learners’ Aadhaar-linked DigiLocker accounts via the DigiLocker issuer API, making them verifiable, portable, and recognised by Indian universities and employers.

Trademark note: DigiLocker is a trademark of its respective owner. This page describes DeepTech's support for DigiLocker; it does not claim partnership or certification unless explicitly stated on our security or compliance pages.

What's supported

Capabilities are described as they exist in DeepTech today. We'll confirm anything we don't list here on a discovery call.

Issuer-API credential push

Course completion certificates, programme transcripts, and skill credentials can be issued to a learner’s DigiLocker account using the official DigiLocker issuer API workflow. Learners receive a verifiable PDF + machine-readable record.

Aadhaar-based learner identity (opt-in)

Where the institution has the relevant consent and authorisation, Aadhaar-anchored identity can be used to bind credentials to a verified learner profile. Aadhaar use is always opt-in and follows DPDPA 2023 expectations.

Verifiable credential standard

Issued credentials follow the DigiLocker issuer specification so any verifier (university, employer, regulator) can validate the document directly via DigiLocker — no manual cross-checks.

Bulk issuance for programme cohorts

Batch-issue certificates for an entire cohort at programme completion. The DeepTech admin console queues the issuance and surfaces per-learner status (issued / pending / failed).

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to be a DigiLocker-registered issuer ourselves?

Yes. The institution must be onboarded as an issuer with NeGD / DigiLocker. DeepTech handles the technical integration on your side; the issuer registration is a one-time policy step the institution completes with DigiLocker directly.

Does DigiLocker issuance work for non-Aadhaar learners?

Credentials can still be issued as verifiable PDFs and email-delivered. The full DigiLocker push (with retrievable record in the learner’s DigiLocker account) requires the learner to have a DigiLocker account, which is Aadhaar-anchored.

Is Aadhaar data stored inside DeepTech?

No. DeepTech does not store Aadhaar numbers. The DigiLocker workflow is mediated by DigiLocker’s own consent and identity layer; we receive only the issuer acknowledgement and a non-identifying credential reference.

Is this the same as UGC online-degree credentialling?

DigiLocker integration is the technical mechanism; UGC online-degree compliance is a separate institutional commitment. The two together support the credential-portability requirement in UGC’s online-degree framework.
